marilynandbob > Here's yet another view of the mighty Titan ("Big T") and the trailer- with the Sangre de Christo mountains in the background. Pretty spiffy!
marilynandbob > Here's the long view of our new truck and trailer. Look, they match! That's a 23 foot trailer, and believe me, to pull it and back it up, it's plenty. In the distance are some of the Sand Dunes at the Colorado Sand Dunes National Monument, where we stayed on our "shakedown cruise" home after picking the trailer up in Colorado Springs.
marilynandbob > AWWW--- too cute. We slept well in the trailer on the way home from picking it up. We stayed in the campground at Sand Dunes National Monument. The dogs think this is their new home!
marilynandbob > For your dining pleasure... plenty of room to enjoy a meal. Note the comforts of home- placemats, cloth napkins and real silverware. Ignore the plastic plates.
marilynandbob > Plenty roomy! For our first meal in the trailer, we had rice with a tempeh/almond casserole, grapefruit slices, tea and home made bread! Most of this was brought from home, but I think we could make all of it from scratch if need be.
marilynandbob > After the sale of the truck was concluded, I asked for a balloon- which they generously provided. Then, Bob spied the Titan coffee mug on a desk, and asked for one. They said they didn't have any for us, and instead brought a goodie bag with a variety of premiums; Boulder Nissan pens, ice scrapers, and labelled golf balls and tees. Bob announced, "We don't play golf" and promptly traded the golf parephenalia with one of the salesmen for... TA DA- the Titan Mug!! He's so thrilled, and I'm not sure whether to be embarrassed or proud.
marilynandbob > A look inside the trailer- it's one year old, and Bob again used his negotiating skills to get us a super terrific price for this unit. It's in great condition, has tons of storage, and all the features we hoped to get. Big refrigerator with a large freezer, microwave, good sized bathroom with a shower, walk-around bed (we don't have to crawl over each other to get in and out of bed), etc. There is an awning outside, and we'll carry folding chairs and small tables for our al fresco dining experience. The dogs will love it.
marilynandbob > Here's the exterior view of our new travel trailer- we will pick it up in Colorado Springs toward the end of August. It's an ultra lightweight trailer, which will improve our gas mileage. It's 23 feet long--- this seems huge to be towing to me, but among RV people this is considered a little guy. We got the Titan truck because it is fully able to tow this size trailer, with cargo. Our cargo will include bagpipes and cameras, which may be a unique combination.
marilynandbob > Here's Bob, Rafiki and the new truck! It's a Nissan Titan, 2005, but with less than 14,000 miles on it when we bought it. We got a screaming deal on the price; Bob is an expert in negotiating prices and finding deals. This truck has a towing package and an off-road package which means we can tow the trailer with ease. Don't even ask about the gas mileage- but it's better than some other trucks, and better than if we'd bought a motor home (which we thought about for a while). The interior is luxurious, with many comfortable features- and a dynamide sound system!!!
