Happy Holidays to one and all! Thank you for visiting our website, and we hope you will browse through the galleries while you are here.
This year Marilyn retired [see retirement gallery], and the summer and fall have been great. She has relaxed, read many books, knit many scarves, taken many hikes and "played" both at home and outdoors [see gallery of recent happenings].
Marilyn and Bob have had some travels too: Bob had a wonderful month in Kenya, Africa, leading a photo group and visiting some of his buddies that he sees every year. High points included great baby elephants, multitudes of African birds, cheetahs and many, many lions. He also brought home some lovely jewelery for Marilyn! Check out Bob's professional website for his spectacular photos of African wildlife at
http://www.robertwinslowphoto.com. While Bob was in Africa, Marilyn and sister Melissa drove to Tennessee to visit Brother Bill and his lovely wife, Tammie. What a fabulous visit! [see gallery of Tennessee trip] Perfect weather, many activities- lots of outdoors and also cultural events. So great was the trip that Marilyn has persuaded Bob to do it with her next year.
We lost our wonderful dog, Cheena, and our kitty, Gabriowl, and we are sobered by the reminder of our own mortality, but also warmed by memories of the long lives they shared with us [see gallery of Cheena memorial]. Rafiki our dog is now an "only child", and is adjusting.
We have so much enjoyed our new truck and travel trailer [see gallery on Truck and Trailer], and we plan a great week in Tucson between Christmas and New Years to visit Bob's mom and two sisters, then home, then back on the road with "Big T" (the truck) and "Ol'Easy" (the trailer, because of its licence plate: OEZ) for a trip to California. Bob has a photo conference to attend, and we'll turn it into a little bit of a road trip.
We still get big grins on our faces when we think of the recent mid-term elections... both at the national level and locally, where our favorite candidates (Democrats) won office. We are looking forward to some positive actions for the environment, education, foreign policy and health care. Our New Year's wish for the Democratic Congress--- Don't Blow It!!!
We are healthy and happy, as are our families, and we are grateful for the blessings of another wonderful year. Looking forward to many more, and sending you wishes and hopes for a prosperous, peaceful, healthy and fulfilling year in 2007.
Please check this newsletter site after the holidays too, because we will add some photos from various holiday parties and visits with family and friends.
