marilynandbob > We had a lovely cook-out on the decks outside our dorm. Here's Monte and Laurie.
marilynandbob > Elk we can see across the road from our house, in a designated "wilderness area". They are not there all the time, so seeing them is a real treat. Photo taken from our South deck. Nov, 2006
marilynandbob > Bosque del Apache, in southern New Mexico, is a winter refuge for migrating birds, in particular, Sand Hill Cranes and various geese. They live here from Nov-Feb, when they fly back north. This photo shows the "Flight Deck", an area where photographers also migrate to seasonally, in order to "shoot" the birds early in the mornings when they have a mass ascention--- they all take off at once, amid loud cries and sounds of wings flapping and a huge wind they create with their wings, and the sight of these hundreds/thousands of birds against the sunrise is just spectacular. Can you find Bob? He's right in the center of this photo.
marilynandbob > Bill on the deck outside his shop, where he spends many hours working on his various projects. The black dog is his, Dior; the Red Dog is a neighbor.
