marilynandbob > Here's Bill and Tammie on that fabulous canoe trip along the Harpeth. It's a curve in the river where it comes back around to where it started, so there's no need for a shuttle; the trucks were parked a few yards away from where we started! It was a lovely day, incredible weather and a leisurely float, even though the water was low, and we had to drag the boats in several places.
marilynandbob > Last and longest stop- Kingston Springs, Tennessee, right outside of Nashville. So glad that Marilyn's brother, Bill and his wife, Tammie could take some time for our visit, and explore the incredible countryside of Middle Tennesses. Here we are hiking above a curve in the Harpeth River, called the Harpeth Narrows. We overlook the river, where later, we took a great canoe trip.
marilynandbob > Marilyn with Brother Bill along the Nachez Trace.
marilynandbob > My class at the United States School of Piping, Flagstaff, Arizona. The instructor, Aaron Shaw, is the only non-Scot instructor, is an extraordinary piper and teacher, and is the bagpiper for the Celtic band, "The Wicked Tinkers"
marilynandbob > Celine with her Uncle Bill and Aunt Tammie.
marilynandbob > Please ignore the fact that the camera shutter didn't completely open--- here's Bill and Melissa on a Pontoon boat ride down the mighty Cumberland River- this was a magnificent trip, almost 2 hours, quiet and slow and scenic. We saw pastures with livestock, a wild boar, some McMansions built no doubt by country music stars, and just thick and lush growth right down to the river.
marilynandbob > Bill on the deck outside his shop, where he spends many hours working on his various projects. The black dog is his, Dior; the Red Dog is a neighbor.
marilynandbob > Here's Bill and Tammie's house with Bill's shop behind it. Farther up the hill is their garden. We all three did some or all of our growing up in middle Tennessee, and we love this state and its many scenic wonders.
marilynandbob > Here's Bill and Tammie outside their lovely home in Kingston Springs, just west of Nashville. As you see, this time of year is lush, green, warm, glorious!! It was a bit early for full-fledged autumn colors, but there was a beginning of leaves turning.
